Where I dare to be me.
and I landed on your lilypad, so I figured I'd say Hi.
God Bless!
I just got back from a business trip to Paris. This time, when I got there, my friend Glen and I got straight on the bus and went for a fun-filled day at Parc Asterix. I don't really know much about Asterix and his friends, but they do all have names that end with "-ix", so hey, I'm on board.
One of Asterix's friends is Obelix. He carries around a big rock. Clever, no? A giant rock-carrier, and his name sounds like "obelisk"! These people are brilliant. I tried to carry one of these "menhirs", but it defeated me.

Then I found Obelix himself. There was a crazy guy dancing around in front of him. I thought I'd join in the fun.

Glen thought Obelix was looking pretty out-of-shape, so I reminded him that you really shouldn't judge people until you've walked a mile in their shoes. So he tried, but he couldn't get the shoes to go anywhere.

There were also some ... interesting ... creatures around the Parc. Like this giant fake wooly mammoth. Look out! Mr. Fake Mammoth! Don't get caught in the trap!!

And there was this really cool brave elephant, going into danger zones where mice were lurking.

These owls aren't doing much for their reputation as being very smart birds. I mean, what do they think they're going to do when they finish marching to the end of this stick? Swim? Ha ha!

Parc Asterix also has some pretty cool rides. The "Tonnere de Zeus" (Zeus' Thunder) is the biggest wooden roller coaster in Europe. To get on to the ride, you have to walk between Zeus' legs as he stands on pillars raining lightning upon the masses. As you go under his legs, you notice he's wearing polka-dot panties. I'd put a picture up here, but this is a clean website. Besides, my camera battery died and the picture got deleted. Instead, here's me and Glen enjoying the really fast, rickety, terrifying ride. Look how good I am at pretending to be scared!

Finally, jet-lagged, roller-coastered out, and a little frightened by all of the French restaurants dotted around the place, it was time to check out souvenirix-landix and head "home". I particularly enjoyed this hat that suited me very well. Unfortunately, I could not figure out how to get it into my suitcase.

I settled for this fashionable picture. Besides, I would have preferred the hat in pink.
